ECCO
ECCO was founded in 1963 by Birte and Karl Toosbuy. Trained as a shoemaker, Karl Toosbuy dreamed of owning a shoe factory and running his own business. Consequently, the family decided to give up the security of regular jobs, sell their house and move to Bredebro, in the south-west of Danemark, just north of the German border.
ECCO 's workforce is diverse, spanning several generations and a multitude of nationalities. Being different together, while maintaining a rigorous accent focus on craftsmanship and quality, is key to driving innovation.
Innovation is the cornerstone ofECCO. They are constantly seeking to disrupt and improve the footwear and leather goods industry. For Ecco, innovation is about setting new standards, and their guiding principle is not to rest and build the future on experience alone.
